JAMMU : Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli today called for conducting bench mark survey of two ST population villages in the State so that these villages can be developed as Diary Villages for which Rs 2 crore have already been sanctioned for the purpose.
The Minister was addressing a meeting convened to review the functioning of Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments and the projects prepared by the concerned departments for establishing Dairy Villages in the State here today.
The Minister also instructed the concerned officials to formulate the projects on modern lines adding that the projects should be in order to boost milk and dairy economy in the State. He also asked them to use latest technology besides promoting at grass root level. He also stressed on generating awareness about the use of latest technology among the animal rearers.
The Minister said that it is vital that the human resource is kept abreast with the latest know-how in the field so that the field functionaries help the farmers in increasing milk and dairy production.
Commissioner Secretary, Animal and Sheep Husbandry R K Bhagat briefed the meeting about the activities of these departments.
Earlier, representatives of Pai Engineering Services Pvt Limited met the Minister and briefed the Minister about the benefits of Pai Shelters.
Among other, Both the Directors of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department and other Senior Officers of ASH departments were present in the meeting.
