JAMMU, Jan 2: As part of Kashmiri Pandit Sabha endeavour to give impetus to education of displaced Kashmiri Pandit students from weaker section, a function was organized for the distribution of scholarships at KP Sabha, Amphalla, here.
The function was chaired by KK Khosa, president of the Sabha.
Mr Khosa welcomed the students and their parents and gave a brief about the need to inculcate the spirit of competition in order to achieve higher goals in life.
He said that the scholarships are given with an objective to improve the merit of the displaced students, adding that it is the duty of the students to improve their performance.
He said that the need is to speak mother tongue to preserve culture. He also wished the students to reciprocate this gesture of helping fellow brethren after their employment.
Later, Mr Khosa distributed scholarship cheques among 90 students.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ashwani Koul and the vote of thanks was presented by GJ Kampassi.
Prominent among other office bearers who spoke on the occasion were Ashok Braroo, sr vice president, Subash Dhar, Ashok Khar and BL Tickoo.
