JAMMU, Nov 15: Reiterating its resolve to fight against the prevailing social evils in the community Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) today appealed the community people to join this noble cause.
Addressing a meeting of KPC activists here today, its president Kundan Kashmiri said that all efforts need to be made to keep the Kashmiri Hindu culture and traditions alive and the future generations need to be guided accordingly.
Stressing on celebrations of the festivals like Maha Shivratri, Navreh etc in a traditional way he said these festivals are the strength of the community as they link it to its past roots and traditions prevalent in Kashmir since the time of Rishi Durvasa.
He said Kashmir has a rich and glorious past but due to the turmoil the community suffered a lot and families were fragmented and scattered giving a set- back to celebrating the religious festivals in a traditional way.
He appealed the community to celebrate all religious festivals, marriages and other ceremonies in a traditional way and keep the culture alive and traditions alive which are the basic identity of the community.
