THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) today pledged Rs five lakh as its contribution for relief in flood-hit areas in Jammu and Kashmir.
The contribution would be made to the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister’s relief fund, KPCC president V M Sudheeran told reporters here today.
State Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, who is in Delhi to co-ordinate efforts to bring back Malayali tourists caught unaware by the floods in Kashmir, said all the people from the state are safe.
As many as 91 of them had been brought to Delhi and the others are expected to be brought to the national capital by tomorrow, he told reporters in Delhi.
He said the state government’s information was that a total of 396 Keralites got stranded in Jammu and Kashmir. (AGENCIES)
