JAMMU, Dec 16: The 3-day Kashmir Peace Lovers (KPL) Cricket Tournament concluded with Utsav Kids Cricket Club, Milchar CC, Talent Hunt XI, Delhi Roop Bawani CC, Paras Club, and Book My Trip (BMT) XI emerging as champions. The tournament, held at multiple venues in Gurgaon and adjoining areas, witnessed intense cricket action across various age groups.
In the U-15 boys’ category, Utsav Kids defeated KPL U-15 to claim the title, while Talent Hunt U-23 triumphed over Jiger Foundation in their category. Delhi Roop Bawani CC defeated Himalayan CC in the women’s category, and Paras Cricket Club claimed victory in the Veterans category by beating Saffron CC. In the Men’s Open category, BMT XI outclassed Alcobrew Cricket Club, while Milchar CC defeated YWC XI to win the Main Draw title.
Cricketer Nitish Rana also attended the event and motivated young players. The closing ceremony featured Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya as the chief guest, accompanied by dignitaries including Raj Nehru, Kiran Wattal, and event organizer Ajay Pandita.
Meanwhile, Shri Bhat Samman and Maharishi Kashyap Samman were presented to distinguished individuals for their contributions to social service and cultural preservation. The Shri Bhat Samman Puraskar were given to Sheila Razdan, Roop Krishen Razdan; Jatin Sapru; Ankita Raina; Anil Bhat and Kirti Dhar and others.
Besides this Pt. Kashyap Bandu Samman Puraskar was conferred to various members for social service, Maharishi Kashyap Samman Puraskar for preserving and propagating culture including famous Bollywood personalities Ritesh Shah & Ashwath Bhat, Bihari Kak, Arvind Shah, Bimla Raina & Dilip Langoo, Suman Bhat and Bharti Kaul. Kota Rani Samman Puraskar was also given posthumously which included Prof Arvind Gigoo, Sandeep Chattoo, owner of Real Kashmir Football Club.
