JAMMU, May 1: Various Kashmiri Pandit organizations have expressed their displeasure over not inducting any member form the community in the State Council of Ministers during the reshuffle of council of ministers yesterday.
In a meeting of Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) held at  New Delhi today under the chairmanship of it’s President, Kundan Kashmiri grave concern was expressed over the attitude of Coalition Government towards the minority Pandits.
This meeting discussed the political situation of the State as well as other developments related to our community and expressed great annoyance and resentment for not allotting Cabinet berth to the community, besides putting the KPs Shrine Bill under carpeting by the PDP-BJP coalition.
Kashmiri stated that KPs  are deliberately being ignored  and isolated by the  State and Center Government  as well as by the BJP and other political parties as the long pending demands like inclusion of one member of the community in State Cabinet, nomination for Rajyasabha as well as passage of  Shrine Bill  are deliberately  being  ignored by the BJP and other political parties  for  the reason best known to them. He said there had been a precedence right from 1947 to 2005 that a one member of minority KP community was included in council of ministers and the same was stopped after Ghulam Nabi Azad took over as Chief Minister in 2006 and later the precedence continued in Omar Abdullah led coalition from 2008 to 2014 and now PDP -BJP alliance also continued the same.
All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) chairman, D N Kissu its advisor, Prof. G L Koul, and president, P L Sudeshi have also shown their resentment over the attitude of present coalition towards the minority Pandits. They said it was expected that during the yesterday’s reshuffle the community will get a place in council of ministers but all its hopes and expectations with BJP were dashed to ground after the party again ignored the community. The Forum leaders urged the State Government to shun its discriminatory attitude towards the community which has contributed a lot for the development of the State and the nation.
All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) president, Desh Rattan while expressing his concern over the denial of Cabinet berth to community said this way the BJP as well as State’s coalition has been exposed and the displaced Pandits have lost total faith in the present coalition.
