KPs’ return

Sir,
Apropos “Ham Vapas Ayenge” by Rashim Deepika (DE 29 Jan), if the writer had known even the most elementary rudiments of Islamic history she would not have hazarded the vague and blurred narrative of ” Kashmiriyat” in her letter. Kashmir crisis related films like Shikara etc. are only money minting machines functioning through systematic mechanism of suppressing the truth and propagating palatable canard and myths. Kashmiri Pandits have weathered seven centuries of relentless tyranny and suppression not only in medieval times but also during seven plus decades of pseudo-secular and pseudo-democratic dispensation since independence in 1947 — ‘pseudo’ because they became refugees in their own country under that dispensation. Instead of glorifying the film she should have picked up courage and without begging for trash called Kashmiriyat asserted that Pandits, the indigenous people of the valley, will go back to homeland only in whatever way they want and wherever they want. Samvad and vivad cannot go together just as terror and talks do not go together.
