KPs show concern for their security after fresh incidents of stone pelting

JAMMU, July 11: Various organisations have expressed their concern over the attack on migrant camps by the violent mob in Kashmir after the killing of Hizbul Commander Burhan Rubani in Kokernag area of South Kashmir district of Anantnag on July 8 while the migrant employees putting up at Sheikhpora, Haal, Vessu and Mattan have warned to go on mass casual leave in protest against the failure of Government to provide security to them.
The PCC Migrant Cell which held an emergency meeting here today to discuss the situation created after the mob attack on migrant camps as well as abandoned houses of Pandits in Valley has accused the State Government of its total failure in providing security to PM package employees.
The meeting which was chaired by H L Pandita chairman Migrant Cell and addressed among others by Ghulam Qadir its convener and M N Pandita vice chairman said on one hand the government was claiming of return of Pandits to Valley and on the other it has been caught unaware when migrant camps were attacked. Even no arrangements of providing security was made to these employees.
Pandita and Mr Qadir have made an appeal to separatist Hurriyat leaders to ensure security of the minorities in Valley and help in maintaining age old culture and tradition of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, PM package employees have warned to go on mass casual leave following the fresh stone pelting at migrant camp at Vessu by the mob. They alleged that no security was provided to them. The migrant employees said that even Government has failed to ensure supply of ration and medicare facilities in migrant camps including Haal and claims made by it in this regard were totally baseless.
BJP Displaced District president Chand Ji Bhat has also expressed his concern over the attack on migrant camps in Valley and demanded fool proof security for them as well as other minorities and their shrines in Kashmir. He said the culprits responsible for attacking the Samadhi of spiritual saint Krishan Joo Razdhan at Vanpoh be also arrested and stern action taken against them to spread hatred among different communities.
Prabandhak Committee Teerathraj Lok Bhawan has also demanded security for its volunteers who have visited the village Logripora in connection with Haarbah festival which falls on July 15 and 16.
It said 12 volunteers are stranded in the village and they have no security. It said that these volunteers were also subjected to stone pelting by mob and though intimation was given to police and district authorities no steps were taken to ensure their proper security. The Committee demanded adequate security for them.
Kashmir Pandit Conference (KPC) chief Kundan Kashmiri while expressing his dismay over the failure of Government in ensuring security to PM package employees in Valley demanded that they be brought back to Jammu and absorbed in Central Government offices outside the Valley till complete return of normalcy in Kashmir. Kashmiri made a dig at State Government for appealing separatists to help in restoration of peace and normalcy.
National Conference Minority Cell which also met under the chairmanship of its president M K Yogi has strongly condemned the attack on migrant camps in Valley and castigated the coalition for its failure in providing security to them. He demanded fool proof security be given to migrant employees in Kashmir. He also made an appeal to people to extend full cooperation to Amarnath pilgrims for the smooth running of yatra.
Joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front J&K was held here today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, president JTC and Soan Kashmir Front J&K.
During the course of meeting, Pandita expressed concern over the attack on migrant transit camps in Valley.
Pandita while speaking in the meeting said that the Coalition Government of PDP and BJP have totally failed to curb militancy and to provide necessary security to the migrants employees and other members of minority community putting up in Kashmir Valley at different places to avoid harassment to the community members.
Pandita has said that various religious places and temples in Kashmir Valley and also Amarnath Yatris have been targeted by the militants and anti social elements and the Government is a mere spectator of all the happenings without initiating solid steps to curb such subversive activities.
Samajwadi Party Migrant Cell president Inderji Labroo while showing concern over the attacks, demanded security for migrant camps and other KPs putting up in various parts of Valley including their religious places. Rashtriya Samajwadi Party (RSP)Secular vice president Sanjay Kumar Dhar has also condemned the attacks and demanded security for minorities in Valley.
