KU Ministerial staff extends support to agitating JU non-teaching employees

JAMMU, Dec 27: The agitating Jammu University non-teaching employees today received a shot in the arm as the Kashmir University Ministerial Secretarial Association extended its support to their ongoing indefinite token strike, which entered into 15th consecutive day on Tuesday.
As per schedule, the agitating employees today suspended their work for three hours and held a protest on the campus. They raised slogans in support of their demands, which included creation/ enhancement of various positions of Ministerial staff, fully Computerization of Establishment, Examination wing, Accounts branch and other departments, .Pay Scale of Rs 7450-11500 for Section Officers and Sr. Pas, implementation of Court Orders for 5500-9000 in respect of employees, grant of Grade Pay of Rs 4200 to 4600 instead of 4200 w.e.f 1.1.2006 as already approved by the University Council w.e.f. 2010, removal of SAT in case of 12 Jr Asstts, Conductor/Helper for University Bus, quota of Assistant Registrar to be corrected on the analogy of Kashmir University, inclusion of Section Officer and Sr PA for Flying Squad duties, refresher/orientation/Accounts training/courses for all employees to increase the efficiency of employees and grant of benefit to 5 Senior Most Computer Assistants notionally.
On the occasion, Abdul Rashid Din, president of Kashmir University Ministerial Secretarial Association extended support to ongoing protest by JU Non-Teaching Employees Union. He apprised the employees about the coordination between the two universities and said that the KUMSA stood by them till all the demands are acceded to.
The demonstration was also addressed by Pawan Singh, Abdul Rashid Din, Ashwani Bakshi, Sham Sharma, Vikas Langer, Sanjeev Chadha, Abhinav Sharma. Padam Shri Padamani, Niranjan Singh Charak, Joginder Singh Chib, Kewal Kumar, Sunita Amla, Jarnail Singh, Jasjeet Singh and Raghubir Singh Bandral.
