KU starts Inter-Collegiate competitions

SRINAGAR, June 5: Waseem Raja of Government Degree College Magam clinched the gold medal with the timing of 47:22 minutes in Inter collegiate Cross Country 2024 here today.
The Directorate of Physical Education and Sports kick started its Inter Collegiate activities for the session 2024-25. Inter collegiate Cross Country men were organised, wherein more then hundred students from affiliated colleges took part.
The Cross country was earlier flagged off in wee hours by Director, Dr Mandeep Singh from Lalit Palace, Nehru Park. The race passes through SKICC-Santure, Nishat Garden via foreshore road and culminates at Rumi Gate, University of Kashmir.
Presiding over valedictory function Director DPES have satisfaction for overwhelming response from all the college Physical Directors and Incharge Sports for having participated in cross country in men’s section. Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal appreciated the efforts of all the stakeholders for making it a grand success.
Vice Chancellor Prof Nilofer Khan said “The Administration is always ready to provide all logical support in terms of infrastructure, funds and bringing in the latest technical assistance from national level Universities”. Then medals were distributed among the first 10 positions of cross country.
The gold medal was clinched by Waseem Raja of GDC Magam. Silver medal was won by Aijaz Ahmad of GDC Kangan whereas the bronze medal was won by Javeed Bashir of GDC Magam.
