Kundal asks Sarpanchs to unitedly fight corruption

RS PURA, Sept 8: Former Chief Secretary and Congress leader B R Kundal (MLC) has asked the Sarpanchs and Panchs to fight unitedly against corruption in the State.
Addressing a large gathering of Sarpanchs and Panchs of R S Block here today, Mr Kundal said if all the development works in the Panchayats are carried out with honesty and dedication with proper utilization of funds, the misuse of public funds can be contained to a larger extent. He asked all the Panchayat members to fight collectively against the menace of corruption. Mr Kundal also asked the members to keep a watch on the development works and ensure proper use of funds in their respective areas.
On this occasion several Sarpanchs and other members projected the problems being faced by them in initiating development works in their respective areas. They also alleged sub-standard works being executed without any check by the concerned senior RDD/ REW officials. They alleged that due to high rate of commission being charged by officials, the quality of work has been deteriorated.
They also alleged that poor quality of work has been initiated at the building of Degree College R S Pura and an inquiry be conducted into it.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included PCC secretary Darshan Raina, Janak Raj Gupta, Sarpanch Kulbir Choudhary, Sarpanch Promila Bhagat, Sarpanch Paramjit Pumma and Harbans Lal Bhagat.
