JAMMU, Sept 12: To take stock of the situation arisen due to unprecedented, rains in J&K, B R Kundal MLC conducted extensive tour of R S Pura and visited number of villages like Simbal, Kullian, Dhinday Kalan, Tanda, Indira Nagar, Maralian, Kotli Mian Fateh, Gagian, Kotli Shah Doula, R S Pura Town and interacted with cross sections of the Society including number of social workers, ladies, Panchs, Sarpanchs, Lamberdars and Congress workers.
Small meetings at number of places were also organized, where in the damages occurred were reviewed. Deputy Commissioner, Jammu and Sub Divisional Magistrate, R S Pura were directed telephonically to send teams of officials and get proper assessment of the damages and ensure timely availability of relief, both for private and public properties. Repair of roads, nallahs especially in the town of R S Pura was emphasized.
Speaking at the meetings, he expressed grief over loss of life and property in the State and lauded the role of all those, engaged in rescue and relief efforts.
Prominent persons, present in, meetings, during inspections, and interactive sessions included Ganesh Dutt Gupta Block president Congress, Sarpanchs, Ravinder Singh, Om Parkash, Madan Lal Sharma, Raj Paul, Janak Raj, B D Gorkha, Banarsi Dass, Bhadur Chand, Vinod Sharma, Khushwant Singh, Youth President Congress, Panchs, Swarno Bhagat, Ashwani Bhagat, Aarti Kohli, Neelam, Renuka Digra, Swarn Kour, Asha Devi, Reeta Raina, Kamla Devi, Sudesh Kumari, Kirpal Kour, Meeta Sharma, Veena Devi, Sham Lal, Sat Paul, etc.
At village Dhinday Kalan a lane/drain constructed was also formally opened for use by the villagers, which during rains proved a boon for the residents.
