Kupwara Cricket Tournament concludes

KUPWARA, Dec 24: Continuing with the mission of J&K Police, with a view to provide platform to talented youth of the state for displaying of their talents and channelizing their energy in a positive manner, District Police Kupwara organized a Cricket Tournament at District Sports Stadium here under Civic Action Programme.
34 cricket teams drawn from different parts of the district have participated in the tournament which was declared open on SSP Kupwara on December 1, 2016.
Today the valedictory function was held at Sports Stadium Kupwara.
Fayaz Mir, MP Rajya Sabha was the chief guest, whereas MLA Kupwara,Mohammad Basheer Dar and DIG NKR Shri Uttam Chand were guests of honour on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion Sh Fayaz Mir MP and MLA Kupwara have lauded the role of Police for organizing such tournaments which provide platform to the talented players of the district to display their talents and enhance their performances.
SSP Kupwara, Shamsheer Hussain while speaking on the occasion underscores the objectives of organizing such youth oriented programmes for providing platform to the talented youth of this far flung frontier district of the valley. He exhorted upon the youth to play a positive role in the society as the youth are the future of any region.
SSP Kupwara has also disclosed that Football and Volleyball tournament shall also be organized in next month.
In the final clash, Gulgam Sahara Club team beat Sulkoot Eleven team by 5 wickets. Hundreds of local people have witnessed the final match with great enthusiasm.
