JAMMU, Nov 1: Kendriya Vidyalaya No-1, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu celebrated its Annual Sports Day in the Vidyalaya Campus, here today. Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu was the chief guest on this occasion, while Ramesh Sharma, International volleyball coach was the guest of honour.
Officiating Principal, Romi Amrit, Vice Principal, Dr B C Dwivedy and J K Dhiman, Head of Primary Wing were present on this occasion.
Romi Amrit presented welcome address and gave an account of achievements of the Vidyalaya in the field of sports and games. She informed that 232 children have participated at Regional and 26 students at KVS National level as well as 15 students at Junior National State level events in different activities. She said 3 gold and one silver medal and cash prizes were received by the Vidyalaya students in the KVS National Sports Meet during this session so far.
A Cultural Programme involving welcome song and folk dances was presented by the students of the Vidyalaya on the occasion.
Mr Sunil TGT (PHE) and Anita Sharma, Coordinator CCA coordinated the event. The winners were given awards on the spot.
