KV Damana lifts Cricket title

PATHANKOT, July 28: Defeating KV Kishtwar in a close contest by 1 wicket in the summit clash, KV Damana lifted the title trophy of Under-17 boys cricket tournament in the ongoing48th KVS Regional Sports Meet 2017, being played at KV No-3 Pathankot, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, KV Kishtwar scored a modest total of 82 runs in the stipulated 15 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process.
In reply, KV Dmana reached the target in 14.4 overs by losing 9 wickets to win the match by 1 wicket. Prashant Kumar Rai of KV Dmana was adjudged as the best bowler for capturing 12 wickets in the Tournament, while Shivam Koul was declared as the best batsman for scoring 153 runs in the Tournament. Thus KV Damana won gold, KV Kishtwar bagged silver and the bronze medal went to KV Sarai Khas, Jallandhar.
Four players of KV Damana have been selected for KVS National Sports Meet to be held at Bangalore in September, 2017. The students included Shvam Koul, Pankaj Kumar, Prashant Kumar Rai and Rubham Sharma.
