JAMMU, Apr 22: Kendriya Vidyalaya No1, Gandhinagar, Jammu today organized Annual Day Function at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University, Jammu.
Dr Pawan Kotwal IAS, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu was the chief guest. Deepa Kotwal was the guest of honour on this occasion. The programme was also graced by Deputy Commissioner KVS Jammu Region AVLJ Rao as a special guest.
The programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest. The students recited Sanskrit Shlokas during this ceremony. Ganesh Vandana was presented by the students of the Vidyalaya in a semi classical dance form. The chief guest was formally welcomed by Sh. T R Choudhary, Principal of the Vidyalaya.
T R Choudhary presented Annual Report of the Vidyalaya, highlighting the achievements in the field of academics and co-curricular activities at various levels.
A cultural programme, comprising welcome Song, mask dance, western dance, shadow act, Swachh Bharat Dance – drama, patriotic dance and Bhangra/ Giddha, was presented by the students.
Deepa Kotwal gave away the Prizes to the meritorious students who showed excellence in different fields of activities and the teachers with excellence in the field of education. Overall champion’s trophy for excellence in co- curricular activities was given to Tagore House in secondary section and to Raman House in primary section.
In his address Sri AVLJ Rao Deputy Commissioner KVS Jammu region highlighted on the advanced skills and expertise reflected in the academic performance of KV-1, Jammu students.
The chief guest expressed his happiness that Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Jammu is a popular institution in the city and contributing a lot in the field of education.
Princy Bhat, PGT (Eng) and Yogesh Katyal, Coordinators, CCA and Samitanshu and three other students anchored the programme. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr B C Dwibedy, Vice Principal, K V No 1, Jammu.
