JAMMU, Dec 10: KV Masters defeated Spartan XI in a match which was organised under the guidance of KV2 (Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2) Principal Bhushan Kumar, here today.
The match was organised between KV Masters led by Samendar Rathore and Spartan XI led by Pawan Parihar at KV2 School Ground.
A brilliant display of batting by KV Masters led by player of the match Navjot Singh’s another 50 defeated Spartan XI by five wickets. Spartan XI won the toss and opted to bat first. The good bowling by KV Masters kept the pressure and Spartan XI kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Pawan Parihar (29* runs), Vishal Khajuria (18 runs), Raghav (13 runs) and Jassi and Rami (12 runs each) helped them post 121 runs in 17.3 overs on the scoreboard. From the bowling side, Sunny Kotwal, Sikander Oberoi, Ashok Kumar and Sachin Kumar took 2 wickets each, while Nipun and Birnavraj shared a wicket each.
In reply, KV Masters lost 2 quick wickets but a handy partnership between Navjot Singh (58 runs) and Rakesh Kumar (16 runs) changed the match in their favour. Naresh Kumar and Sikander Oberoi contributed 12 runs each. For the Spartan XI, Shubham took 2 wickets, while Rami and Jassi shared one wicket each.
