JAMMU, June 30: KV No 1 Srinagar smashed KV No 2 Srinagar and lifted the title trophy of the Subroto Cup Football Tournament held at GGM Science College ground, here today.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, KV No 1 Srinagar crushed KV No 2 Jammu Cantt, whereas in the second semis, KV No 2 Srinagar outplayed KV No 4 Jalandhar. In the tournament, KV No 2 Jammu Cantt secured third position.
On the valedictory function, Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council was the chief guest, who awarded the winners in presence of Rita Bhaskar, Principal, KV No 2 Jammu Cantt, Archana Sharma, Organiser and senior teacher of KV No 2 Jammu Cantt and other senior teachers of the Vidyalayas.
Rajan Sharma while speaking asked the children to play more and more games for all round development. “Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday’s success or put its failures behind and start over again. That’s the way life is, with a new game every day and that’s the way football is”, he added.
In the end, Rita Bhaskar, Principal, KV No 2 Jammu Cantt presented vote of thanks.
