JAMMU, Dec 15: Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Akhnoor, celebrated the 62nd Foundation Day of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan with great enthusiasm.
The event began with a warm welcome for the chief guest, Lieutenant Colonel Neeraj Puri (Officer Commanding), followed by a melodious welcome song performed by the young students.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Lieutenant Colonel Neeraj Puri and Principal Amit Walter, with serene Vedic chants. Students presented a variety of cultural performances, including dance dramas, that reflected the diverse culture of India’s states.
Lieutenant Colonel Puri appreciated the event and encouraged both students and teachers to continue excelling in academics and co-curricular activities. Alumni of the school also shared their experiences. Priya Sharma, currently training in the Kashmir Administrative Service, emphasized the creativity and excellence fostered by Kendriya Vidyalayas, while National Defence Academy cadet Aryan Sharma inspired the youth to serve the nation.
Principal Amit Walter highlighted the significance of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, noting its status as the largest centrally controlled school chain in India, with over 1,256 schools, including three international branches. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by senior teacher Kamal Chandra Shukla.
