JAMMU, May 8: KV No-2 Jammu Cantt. celebrated its annual day with great zest and zeal in General Zorawar Singh auditorium, here.
Col. Kamal Padha 26 Inf. Div. nominee Chairman V.M.C. K.V. No. 2 was the chief guest on the occasion.
Other dignitaries present were Padmashree Balwant Thakur Regional Director, ICCR, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, and Amarjeet Singh Gill (A.C.) K.V.S. Jammu region.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, in the backdrop of the chanting of Vedic ‘mantras’.
The Principal KV No. 2 Jammu Cantt. M. Laxmi Narayan formally welcomed the chief guest and other dignitories and also presented the annual report highlighting the activities conducted during the session and the landmarks made by the school in academics as well as curricular activities. The achievement of both the teachers and the taught were greatly appreciated by the audience.
It was followed by a colourful array of cultural items, which were a display of extraordinary talent in the students. The august gathering was totally mesmerized by the marching dance by the tiny tots of the Vidyalaya and the school orchestra. The ‘Krishan Leela’ was unique and greatly appreciated, and classical and the South Indian dances forms created a wonderful ambience.
The skit on Child Labour creating a much needed awareness. The vibrant beats of the ‘Dandiya’ set the stage on fire with everybody in the audience totally enthralled.
The meritorious students were honoured with certificates and prizes.
The programme was anchored by senior teachers Rita Bhaskar and Amardeep Kour, besides senior students Heeposh, Ekta, Pavni and Areeb.
The grand show ended with the vote of thanks by Rita Bhaskar.
