KATHUA, Aug 17: A deputation of Kathua Vikas Manch (KVM) Kathua called on Dr. Jitendra Singh , Union Minister in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), The office bearers and members of KVM led by Prof. Ram Murti Sharma President of the Manch raised demands regarding establishment of already sanctioned Inter State Bus Stand (ISBS) at the already selected land near District Hospital for which MLA Kathua has sought funds under UIDSSMT Scheme of Govt. of India.
They demanded construction of bridge over river UJH near Forlain-Bakhta for connecting Dinga Amb, Pranjali, Magloor with Ghati, Nannan, Budhi, Barwal; Construction of flyover from Maggar Khad to Sahar Khad on National Highway-A1 with proper connectivity, round abouts, High Mast Lights and crossings near Hatli Morh, CTM, Distt. Hospital, Kali Badi, Janglote Morh etc. and beautification of both sides of Kathua canal from Maggar Khad to Kuka Chak in the shape of strips, lawns, plantations, View Points, Foot Bridges and electrification preferably through Department of Social Forestry under CAMPA Scheme and Department of Parks and Floriculture.
The deputationists also sought the attention of Dr. Jitendra Singh for giving practical shape to the Construction of Fly Over Bridge from Mukharjee Chowk to D.C. Office Kathua with proper connectivity near Old P.N.B. building, Shaheedi Chowk, Krishna Colony, Karan Nagar, Degree College to reduce ever increasing traffic load; Linking of Kirian Gandial (Ram Nagar) with Bhagthalli Kathua through a bridge over river Ravi; Extension of municipal council limits upto Changran and Govindsar and giving Corporation/Development Authority status to Kathua city; Construction of two additional bridges for connecting two Wands/Parts of the Kathua city one at Dream Park & the other near Maha Kaleshwar Temple Krishna Colony .
