JAMMU, July 22: The 48th Regional Athletics Sports Meet for Under-14, 17 and Under-19 years boys was organized by KV No-2 Jammu Cantt at BSF Paloura ground, here.
Earlier, the Athletics Meet was inaugurated by S Sambana, Deputy Commissioner KVS Jammu Region as the chief guest, while the Commandant Ramesh Sharma was the guest of honour and Deputy Commandant Ajit Singh Talwar was the special guest.
161 boys took part in the track and field events to vie for the top honours.
The events included 100, 200, 400, 600, 1500, 3000 and 5000 meters, besides 5 kilometer cross country, 100 meters hurdles, triple jump, discus throw, high jump, long jump, 80 meters hurdle, javelin throw and shot put.
Principal KV No-2 Jammu Cantt was the chief guest in the closing ceremony today, who honoured winners on the occasion.
The meet was conducted under the technical supervision of Archana Sharma, PET.
