JAMMU, July 25: The two-days long KVS Regional Sports Meet 2024-25 concluded at PM SHRI KV No1, here today. The event was held in the disciplines of Chess U-14, U-17 and U-19 and Skating U-14, U-17 and U-19 age categories for girls.
The chief guest on the occasion was Islam Khan, Assistant Commissioner KVS RO Jammu Region. In Chess U-14 category Sumedha of KV Hiranagar won gold medal, Ojasvi Choudhary of KV Bhaderwah won silver medal and Sarvika Mehta of KV Bhaderwah won bronze medal.
In Chess U-17 category Prisha of KV Hiranagar won gold medal, Gunjan of KV Hiranagar won silver medal and bronze medal was won by Bhavya Sharma of KV Bhaderwah. In the U-19 category of Chess Prakriti of KV Jyotipuram won gold medal, Himanshi Thakur of KV Lakhanpur won silver medal and Kanika Kotwal of KV Bhaderwah won bronze medal.
In Skating U-14 500-meter Quads Aditi Dogra of KV Kathua won gold medal, Naddar Bharti of KV Kathua won silver medal and Mannat Sangral of KV Lakhanpur won bronze medal. In Skating U-17 1000-meter Quads Akansha Naruka of KV No 2 Jammu won gold medal, Kaveri Chhetri of KV No 1 Jammu won silver medal and Mansi of KV No 1 Jammu won bronze medal. In skating U-14 Inline category Abhilasha of KV No 2 Jammu won gold medal, Siya of KV Sunjwan won silver medal and Jagriti of KV Sunjwan won bronze medal.
The winners and outstanding achievers were honoured with certificates, gold, silver and bronze medals by chief guest Islam Khan, Assistant Commissioner KVS RO Jammu Region. These medals and certificates mark their exceptional abilities in the field of sports.
Meanwhile, the two-day Regional Sports Meet of Jammu Region of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan featuring Handball, Yoga and Shooting for Girls under 14, 17 and 19 concluded at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Nagrota.
Ruchi Behl, Principal, APS Nagrota was chief guest during the closing ceremony. In the sporting meet, 178 girls from 14 KVs participated. In the final match of Handball in Under-14, PM SHRI KV Nagrota won Gold Medal while Silver and Bronze Medals were occupied by KV No 2 Jammu Cantt and KV Samba. In another final match of under-17 Handball, PM SHRI KV Nagrota emerged as the champion by pushing their rivals KV Jyotipuram and KV No. 2 Jammu Cantt into 2nd and 3rd position.
In under-19 Yoga, KV Jyotipuram (Rhythmic) and KV No 1 Udhampur (Traditional) secured Gold Medal. In under-17 Yoga, KV Nagrota (Artistic) and KV Nagrota (Rhythmic) and KV Bantalab (Traditional) secured Gold Medals. In under-14 Yoga, KV No 2 Jammu Cantt (Artistic), KV Nagrota (Rhythmic) and KV Nagrota (Traditional) secured Gold Medals. The closing ceremony began with the welcome address of Dr Ram Kishan Dahiya, Venue Principal.
