Labana community hails Govt for inclusion in list of OBCs

JAMMU, Dec 10: All Jammu and Kashmir Labana Samaj Sudhar Sabha has hailed the inclusion of the Labana community of J&K State in the list of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) making this community of the J&K State eligible to avail the benefits being provided by Government of India in favour of the OBCs.
Addressing a press conference, Sabha president S Jagjeet Singh paid the thanks and gratitude’s initiations and contributions of late Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, then Chief Minister of the State, with whose tireless efforts the case of the Labana community was taken up vigorously and which was followed by the present Coalition Government headed by present chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, for her sincere intervention to the request of the Labana community and forwarding the recommendations to the Union Government and the NCBC for inclusion of Labanas of J&K in the list of OBCs thus providing a vital opportunity to the youth of Labana community in getting the jobs in the Central Government Departments, especially to undergo the technical trainings in the professional colleges like, Medical and Engineering Streams.
The Labana community of J&K State also felt indebtedness to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Cabinet Minister of Social Justice and environment and Dr Jitendra Singh MOS PMO, for accepting the recommendations of State Government and NCPC thus paving the way for the inclusion of Labanas in the OBC List which was a long pending demand of the community since last more than six decades.
The Sabha also appreciated the services rendered by late Prof Sukhdev Singh Ex-Member of J&K OBC Commission, who worked a lot for the inclusion of Labana community in the list of OBC in J&K State.
