REASI, June 18: A middle aged labourer committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near his house in a remote village of Thakrakote, under the jurisdiction of Arnas Police Station, here today.
The deceased was identified as Mast Ram (47), son of Chattu, resident of Matah, a remote village in Thakrakote. He was working as labourer at Katra and had come to home only a few days back.
Reports said that there was a minor quarrel between the deceased and his wife over some petty issue following which the former left the home this morning after asking family members that he was going to Katra. However, his body was later found hanging from a tree in a nearby forest.
On being informed , a Police party from Arnas reached the spot and shifted the body to hospital for postmortem and other legal formalities.
