LEH, Aug 6: Art for Cause, a charitable trust is organizing Ladakh Dance Camp from August 8, which will conclude on August 25 at Auditorium Hall, CIBS.
This was stated by Irshal Ishu, President, Art for Cause during a press conference here. Highly professional choreographers Ryan Martyr (finalist, So If You Think You Can Dance) and Sandeep Chhabra, International Hip Hop trainer and performer, Incharge AD Information, Sonam Nurboo, Deputy Registrar Cooperative were also present on the occasion.
The organisers have selected around 500 students of 6th to 12th classes from different private and Government schools of Leh district who will be trained in various dance forms by Ryan Martyr and Sandeep Chhabra, Ishu said, adding that 10 best students will be selected to appear with them in a music video.
Ishu added that their purpose of organising this camp is to give a platform to the Ladakhi children to explore their dancing talents and select and sponsor one or two best dancer representing face of Ladakh for direct entry in DID, a dance based TV reality show.
He appealed to every parent to support it and motivate their children for participation in the camp which is more than just a dance workshop.
“We are looking forward to make Ladakh Dance Camp a calendar event if they get positive response from corner of the district and aspire to make it huge with the support of district administration, Leh and Urban Dance Tour India”, he added.
Stanzin Tsetan, President, Student Union, Leh said that it is an effort to provide a platform to Ladakhi students to boost their confidence.
