Ladakh MP discusses Civil Aviation issues with Union Minister

NEW DELHI, June 28: Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Member of Parliament from Ladakh, today called on Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State for Civil Aviation (I/C) and discussed with him the inclusion of Nubra and Kargil Airports in UDAN programme.
JTN also stressed on proposal for construction of “No Frill Airport” at Padum Zanskar in Kargil District of Ladakh region, which is a long pending demand of the area.
The MP highlighted the demand of expansion of Kargil Airport, which was also under the active consideration of previous Modi Government and had sanctioned Rs 200 crores. He also drew attention towards the allotted subsidized Pawan Hans Heli Service in Ladakh region, which was did not operate through out the winter, when it was extremely needed. This service was the only mean to connect the far-flung, remote, most backward and unconnected areas like Padum-Zanskar, Youlchung-Nyerak, Lingshed-Fotoksar, Debling, Changthang and Nubra in Ladakh and a great relief for the patients or others, who suffered due to its no operations during the Winter, he explained.
