Ladakh team wins 8 medals in 21st National Sqay Championship

KARGIL, Mar 1: Ladakh Sqay team won 8 medals in the recently concluded 21st National Sqay Championship, which was held at Jaipur Rajasthan.
Ladakh Sqay team was also presented outstanding performance award by Sqay Federation of India.
It is for the first time after Ladakh became Union Territory, a team of Sqay was flagged off by DC Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve. The team was selected by the Ladakh Sqay Association.
Two Silver medals were won by Ummul Baneen and Muzaffer Ali Khan in Junior Category and two Bronze medals each by Nissar Ali and Mohammad Hassan in Senior Category, 3 Bronze medals by Renchen Dolkar, Iftiqar Hussain and Asiya Banoo in Junior Category and one Bronze medal by Archo Bilques Fatima in Sub Junior Category.
The team was accompanied by Mohammad Hassan as Coach and Zaheer Abass Khan as Manager.
President Ladakh Sqay Association Zulfiqar Ali Khan congratulated the team and expressed gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve for appointing two of his employees as coach and manager of the team.
Mudassir Wazir Vice President of Ladakh Sqay Association said that it is the hard work of Coach Mohammad Hassan that the team has achieved such a wonderful result in its first match.
