KARGIL, Oct 28: The 5th UT Ladakh Volleyball Championship organized by the Kargil Volleyball Association, today brought together teams from across the region.
The event featured three women teams from Leh and four from Kargil alongside three men’s teams from Leh and five from Kargil.
Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon attended the event as chief guest, Joint Director YSS UT Ladakh, Tahir Hussain, was guest of honour and Councillor of Tai-Suru, Abdul Hadi was special guest.
CEC Kargil said that sports play a vital role in the overall development of personality.
Dr. Akhoon said that there is no dearth of talent in different sports categories in Kargil.
He mentioned that several vital steps have already been taken to develop sports infrastructure, with many projects in pipeline set to be prioritised.
In men’s category, Kargil-A emerged champion, while Kargil-B claimed the runner-up position.
In women’s category, Leh-A took home the title of champion, with Kargil-C finishing as the runner-up.
