JAMMU, Mar 20: A grand reception was accorded to Thupstan Chhewang, BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Ladakh Parliamentary Constituency by the party workers with traditional Kalchor and Khataks on his arrival from Delhi at Leh Airport.
A large number of volunteers participated in the reception, hundreds of vehicle with party flags from Airport to party office Leh. The prominent participants include Ven Lobzang Nyantak, acting president, president Yuwa and Mahila Morchas and all executives of the party and workers of different Morchas of all blocks including Zanaskar and Kargil.
At the office Ven Lobzang Nyantak, Dorjey Angchuk , R.P Singh MLA from Delhi and Incharge J&K BJP addressed the volunteers.
R P Singh expressed happiness over the acceptance of BJP Mandate by Thupstan Chhewang and assured the public for grant of UT status to Ladakh.
Thupstan Chhewang also addressed the party volunteers and thanked the people for their overwhelming support to his candidature. He also expressed that he will serve Ladakh. Expressing his confidence that BJP will win the election hands down he said the fight for UT will continue. The demand for UT is not raised only for this election but he has been demanding the same since he joined the politics.
