LEH, July 5: The Executive Council of LAHDC Leh led by Chairman/CEC, Advocate Tashi Gyalson today accorded rousing welcome to the first civilian Everester from UT Ladakh, Jigmat Tharchin, here.
The event was attended by Dy Chairman, Tsering Angchuk, Executive Councillor, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Executive Councillor, Stanzin Chosphel and office staff of Council Secretariat, Leh.
Addressing the gathering, CEC Tashi Gyalson stated that, it is indeed a proud moment for the entire people of UT Ladakh that Jigmat Tharchin was able to scale the highest peak in the world successfully. He also extended gratitude to the UT Administration of Ladakh for providing financial assistance to Jigmat Tharchin for the expedition.
CEC Gyalson wished luck to Jigmat and assured Hill Council’s assistance for his future endeavours.
Everester Jigmat Tharchin also shared his experiences and the challenges he came across during the expedition.
