Lakhanpur police rescues 12 bovine animals

JAMMU, Feb 15: In continuation to take stringent action against bovine smugglers and to take strict measures to thwart conspiracies of bovine smugglers, a police team of Police Station (PS), Lakhanpur foiled bovine smuggling attempt in its jurisdictional area and rescued 12 bovines on spot along with vehicle involved in the crime was also seized in meantime.
A police team of PS Lakhanpur, under the supervision of Inspector, Arvind Sambyal SHO, Lakhanpur while on routine naka checking intercepted a suspicious truck bearing Registration Number UP15CT-1639 which was being driven by unknown driver and found it was loaded with bovine animals. On seeing police party the driver stopped the vehicle behind the naka point and fled away from the spot.
During checking of the vehicle, 12 bovines were found loaded in the vehicle in a cruel manner.
A case vide FIR No. 27/2021 under Sections 188/IPC 11/PCA Act has been registered at aforesaid Police Station and further investigation geared up.
