LAKSH Season-5 football tourney commences

JAMMU, Jan 6: The much-anticipated LAKSH (Leh and Kargil Super Heroes) Football tournament season-5 commenced at Mini Stadium Parade, here today.
A total of 5 thrilling matches marked the first day of the tournament, showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship. On the opening day Skalzangling FC defeated MES Raika by 11-0 goals, RLC defeated Ladakh Warriors by 7-0 goals, Chandigarh Beautiful Boys defeated Indus Chuchot by 1-0 goal, Shaheen FC defeated AMU FC by 4-2 goals, Chewang FC defeated MEWSL Academy by 2-0 goals
SP Jammu City, Kulbir Handa was chief guest while guest of honour was Satpal Singh, Manager Mini Stadium Parade. The statement said that a total of 21 teams have registered for the 5th season of LAKSH, which has been organized in Jammu since 2019. The week-long event will culminate on January 14 after a total of 36 matches.
The opening ceremony began with a solemn moment of silence, paying tribute to two football legends of Ladakh, Tsewang Dorjay Baku and Jigmet Namgyal, who tragically lost their lives in a road accident last summer.
Sajeed Jafari, President of LAKSH Society, expressed gratitude to the participants, acknowledging their passion for the game and their dedication to travel from Leh, Kargil, Chandigarh, Delhi, Aligarh, and Jammu to be part of this spectacular event.
