Lal Singh asks students to acquire quality knowledge to lead harmonious life

JAMMU, Apr 30: The Cultural Wing of Department of Information and Public Relations and Stephens International Public School, Miran Sahib today jointly organized a Cultural-Cum-Variety Show as part of Spring Festival being celebrated by the educational institutions.
Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Ch Lal Singh was the chief guest on the occasion.
Ex-MLA Kanta Andotra, Chairman Stephens International Public School, Dr Kamal Saini, Director General Indian Systems of Medicines, Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar besides teaching, non-teaching staff members,  parents and students in large numbers were present on the occasion.
Describing the youth as the future leaders, Ch Lal Singh said that extra-curricular activities are an essential component of the education process for preparing the students to effectively face future challenges. He said the aim of education is not merely passing examinations but to also produce balanced personalities.
The Minister asked the teaching fraternity to impart quality as well as moral values to the students. He said teachers are the main architects of the nation as they prepare the future generations for running the affairs of the country.
He highlighted the role of the teachers and parents in the life of children. He called upon the parents to send their wards to schools for becoming good citizens of the country. He stressed upon the student community to work for unity and integrity of the country and also appealed the parents to come forward and support their children in this mission so that India becomes stronger day by day.
The Minister further said that alongside academic pursuit other activities provide an excellent opportunity for the youth to exhibit and develop their creative talents.  He asked them to acquire quality knowledge which would help them to lead a harmonious life.
Earlier, the artists of Cultural Wing of Information Department and students of the school presented colourful cultural items which were highly applauded by the gathering.
Later, certificates of participation in Cultural-variety Show were also distributed by the Minister among the students.
