UDHAMPUR, Oct 2: Member Parliament (MP) Choudhary Lal Singh today inaugurated the newly constructed Multipurpose Hall in the premises of the Jagriti Oldage Home, Udhampur.
District Development Commissioner, P.K Pole, President Jagriti Oldage Home, Udhampur, Dr. R.C. Nagar, Block Development Officer, Udhampur, Amit Vermani, members of Jagriti Oldage Home and prominent personalities of the town were present on the occasion.
Terming the senior citizens an important part of the society, Mr. Singh said, “We have to respect our elders and work for their welfare for the overall prosperity of the society”.
He also appreciated the selfless services of Dr. R.C. Nagar for helping the deprived and downtrodden people.
While responding to the demands and problems faced by the Jagriti management committee and locals of the area, Mr. Singh directed the concerned officers to make an estimate of required minor works of multipurpose hall so that the same could be made available for its completion. He also asked DDC to prepare an estimate for the beautification of Dabbar Park Udhampur and submit the same to him so that the amount required for the same could be released.
Earlier, Member Parliament paid rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and called upon the people to follow his teachings for peace and prosperity of the country.
