NURPUR (HIMACHAL PRADESH), May 29: Rajput Sabha, Nurpur today celebrated 477th birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap Singh.
On the occasion, Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Choudhary Lal Singh was the chief guest.
A colourful shobha yatra was taken out from the markets of Nurpur town in which hundreds of people of the area participated.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister paid rich tributes to great ruler of the India. He said that Maharana Pratap’s life symbolizes courage, patriotism and sacrifice who valiantly fought to defend his motherland.
He said, “not only did the Rajput ruler inspire Indians but his name also became a source of inspiration for people in other countries”. He said that Maharana Pratap became an icon for freedom fighters because his name evoked a strong feeling of love and sacrifice for motherland. He said Maharana Paratap Singh was a lone ruler of the time who stood against tyranny and spread idea of brotherhood.
On the occasion, the Minister also released a souvenir ‘Ragarika’ published by the Rajput Sabha, Nurpur.
