Lal Singh visits Latti, Jakher; Convenes grievances redress camp

UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY 2: Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh, today conducted an extensive tour of Latti, Jakher and adjoining areas of the district and held a series of public grievances redress camps in these far flung areas.

During the camps, the locals apprised the Minister of their problems and demands related to development of their respective areas seeking an early redress of the same.

The people demanded establishment of a Munsiff court at Latti, early completion of various roads like Dudu to Seojdhar, Bandhola to Pattangarh to Dhanas, Sera to Garhi etc besides raising issue of unavailability of forest timber depot in the area.

The Minister listened to the grievances of the locals and assured them that these would be resolved in a phased manner.

Addressing the gatherings, the Minister said that the government is well abreast with the issues of the people and is endeavoring hard to mitigate these at the earliest. He sought active public cooperation in ensuring effective implementation of government schemes aimed at transforming socio-economic standards of common people.

The Minister issued strict instructions to the officers of different departments to conduct regular field visits in their respective areas to assess the public grievances so that necessary measures could be initiated to sort out the same.

Highlighting the importance of forests for survival of mankind, the Minister said that one cannot imagine life without forests so it becomes imperative that we all play our part in protection and preservation of this green wealth on earth. “Forests are home to both animals and human besides meeting our daily life requirements in almost all spheres of life”, the Minister maintained while appealing the people to extend their cooperation to the department in saving this incredible property for the posterity.

Later, the Minister inaugurated a forest hut at Latti in presence of a large number of people.

Gupta, CCF Jammu Roshan Jaggi, Director Social Forestry, A KGupta, Conservator Forests Jammu, Naveen Shah, Regional Wild Life Warden, Senthil Kumar, DFO Territorial Jugal Kishore, DFO SF Dr. Rajan Singh, Deputy Director FPF Rakesh Saraf, Divisional Manager SFC Puran Singh and other officers accompanied the Minister during the visit.
