Law School, Commerce Deptt log victories

JAMMU, Apr 21: Law School and the Commerce Department prevailed over their rivals in the Inter-Department Cricket Tournament, being organized by the University of Jammu at Varsity grounds, here.
In the first match, Law School defeated Physics & Electronics Department by 27 runs. Law School scored 164 runs in 20 overs. Gourav Khajuria top scored with 66 runs, while Yashuvardhan, Viran and Irfan contributed with 27, 22 and 12 runs respectively. Narotam took 3 and Anil 2 wickets for Physics & Electronics Department.
In reply, Physics & Electronics Department managed to score 137 runs in the allotted overs, losing the match by 27 runs. Varun top scored with 36 runs, while Narotam and Vishal contributed with 28 runs each. Irfan took 3 wickets, while Vashuvardhan claimed 2 wickets for Law School.
In another match, Commerce Department got better of EVS by 7 wickets.
Commerce Department chased the target of 109 runs in 15.1 overs by losing 3 wickets to win the match by 7 wickets. EVS scored 108 runs, with Ranjan contributing highest 45 runs, while for Commerce Department, Sangram was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 important wickets, while Gulzar was the highest scorer with 38 runs.
