JAMMU, June 1: Law School outclassed Physical Education Department by a close margin of two runs and lifted the title trophy of Inter Department Cricket (men) Tournament.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Law School scored 125 runs for the loss of 8 wickers in 15 overs. Gourav Khajuria made half century including six boundaries and two sixes, whereas Sohit and Mohammad Isran made 35 and 10 runs respectively.
For Physical Education Department side, Mehmood scalped 2 wickets, whereas Naseeb, Charanjeet Singh, Nadeem and Manoj took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Physical Education Department tried its level best to clinch the game but failed and lost the match by just 2 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 15 overs. Rahul Sharma was the top scorer with 56 runs and Vinay Manhas contributed with 24 runs.
For Law School side, Yashwardhan was the wrecker-in-chief with 3 wickets and Irfan scaled 2 wickets.
The match was officiated by S Singh and Vijay Dogra as umpires. Manu Khajuria maintained the scorecard.
