Lawrence Public School organizes students exchange prog

JAMMU, Apr 10: Lawrence Public School organised student exchange programme with Lawrence School, Ohio, USA.
A group of faculty members from Lawrence School, Ohio USA including Barb Baley and Denise Brown, Counseling and Student Guidance, Patricia Feith, event coordinator, Dee Dee Miller, Advancement Partnership Coordinator, Yelitza Nieves, World Languages Linguist, Brian Cook, Middle School Coordinator, Venessa Difenbacher and Douglas Hamilton, Leadership Council visited the Lawrence Public School, Jammu.
They were welcomed by the Chairman Lawrence Public School, Wg Cdr MM Joshi and Principal, Shakuntla Joshi.
In her welcome address, Shakuntla Joshi said that, as the nations of the world become more interdependent, it becomes increasingly important that school students develop a sense of global citizenship. Educational exchange programmes provide a unique opportunity to do so by allowing students to personally experience unfamiliar countries and cultures. They learn about the lifestyle and culture of people living in other countries, develop lasting bonds with their host families and friends, she added.
Principal further said that the experience may also allow students to improve their ability to speak another language. Many students will find the exchange experience so meaningful that they pursue international careers.
On the occasion, students presented a cultural program.
Later, students interacted with Dusty Perillo, Jefrey Starner, Cheryl Cook, Judy Kaufmann, Carol Kenny a few American students visiting their school and exchanged small souvenirs with them.
Dee Dee Miller and Patricia Feith informed that Lawrence School in Ohio is an independent, coeducational day school serving students from different communities having two campus locations.
