Lawyers Annual Sports Meet-2015 in full swing *Day-2 witnesses exciting contests

JAMMU, Mar 28: Lawyers Annual Sports Meet 2015 was in full swing and day-2 of the cricket extravaganza witnessed exciting contests at University of Jammu grounds, here today.
Apart from prominent former and current cricketers, a galaxy of former Ranji Trophy players, are part of this mega cricketing event.
The Meet started yesterday with the 1st match played between Fire XI and Stickers XI, in which Stickers XI after winning the toss batted first and scored 152 in 12 overs. Amulay was the top scorer with 77 runs, while Amjad and Ravinder took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Fire XI bundled-out for 25 runs. Shan was the highest wicket taker with 2 wickets.
The second match was played between Paradise XI and Great warriors, in which Paradise XI scored 123 runs in 10 overs. Guru Paratp Singh was the highest scorer with 59 runs, while Sahil Aggarwal contributed 44 runs to the total.
In reply, Great Warriors were bundled out for a paltry total of 65 runs. Guru Partap and Ajay Manhas took 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
In another match played between Sachin XI and Royal XI, Sachin XI won the toss and scored 85 runs. Sachin was the top scorer with 31 runs.
In reply, Royal XI chased the target easily with Farhan remaining unbeaten on 32 runs.
In the match between Pir Panjal XI and Legal Stars XI, Legal Stars XI won the toss and scored 130 runs in 10 overs. AP Singh scored 48 runs, while Jahanzaib contributed 29 runs to the total.
Pir Panjal XI, in reply, bundled-out for 50 runs. Parvesh Salaria was the wrecker-in-chief, scalping 4 important wickets.
Meanwhile, in the round-2 matches today, exciting contests were witnessed and the 1st match was played between Paradies XI and  Dogra XI.
Dogra XI won the toss and elected to bat first to score 56 runs in allotted overs. For Paradise XI Sahil was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 important wickets, while Ravi Abrol claimed 2 wickets. Ajay Manhas, Tarez and Ishan shared one wicket each.
Chasing the target, Paradise XI scored 59 runs, with Amit Chadha scoring 19 runs, while Ravi Abrol and Sahil chipped in with 12 runs each. Ashwan , Ajeetpal and Mansoor took one wicket each.
Another match was played between Strikers Cricket Hub and Striking XI.
Striking XI won the toss and elected to bat first to score 113 runs in the allotted overs. For Striking XI, Atul top scored with 58 and Sahil contributed 22 runs. Rajeev took 2  wickets and Rajesh claimed one.
In reply, Strikers Cricket Hub chased the target in a thrilling contest on the penultimate ball of the innings. Raj Thakur scored brilliant 47 runs to take his side to home.
Next match was played between Kings Royal XI and Kings XI. Kings Royal XI winning the toss and batting first, scored 94 runs in the allotted overs. For Kings XI, Aditya Sharma top scored with 32 runs and Vikram contributed 18 runs to the total. Pankaj took 2 wickets, while Aamir claimed one. Royal XI chased the target easily to advance in the tournament. Main scorer was Farhan with unbeaten 42 runs, while Aamir Awan scored  21 runs, while Wasim and Ashim took one wicket each respectively.
The last match was played between Pir Panjal XI and Council XI, Pir Panjal XI won the toss and elected to bat first to score 64 runs. Nadeem was the main scorer with 15 runs, while KK Pathan chipped in with 12 runs. Lovjeet, Ashish, Navdeep and Lokesh shared 1 wicket each.
Chasing the target Council XI scored 65 runs. Sohail top scored with 30 runs, while Shashi contributed 23 runs to the total. H A Farooqi took 2 wickets.
