Lead futures down on global cues, subdued spot demand

NEW DELHI, Apr 30:  Taking cues from global markets and subdued spot demand, lead prices eased by 0.18 per cent to Rs 109.45 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in reducing exposures.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in April fell by 20 paise, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 109.45 per kg in business turnover of 471 lots.
The metal for delivery in May also fell by a similar margin to Rs 110.50 per kg in a turnover of 182 lots.
Marketmen said a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) as weakness in Japanese and South Korean industrial output added to global demand concerns, mainly attributed fall in lead futures pries.
Besides, subdued demand from battery-makers also supported the downside, they said. (PTI)
