Lead futures fall 0.46 pc on weak spot demand, global cues

NEW DELHI, Aug 21:  Lead prices traded lower by 0.46 per cent to Rs 141.10 per kg in futures trade today on weak demand in the spot market amid a lower global trend.
At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in August traded lower by 65 paise, or 0.46 per cent to Rs 141.10 per kg in business turnover of 2,171 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in September weakened by 40 paise, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 140.95 per kg in 338 lots.
Market analysts said besides weak demand from battery-makers in the spot market, a weakening trend in the entire base metals at the London Metal Exchange, mainly influenced lead prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, lead slid 0.6 per cent to USD 2,234 dollar a tonne at the London Metal Exchange. (PTI)
