Leaders, Christian associations condemn Sri Lanka blasts

JAMMU, Apr 21: The cowardly act of serial bomb blasts targeting churches and hotels in the heart of Colombo on the Easter Day was strongly condemned today by Christian associations of Jammu as well as political leaders.
“My heart goes with the families of those who lost their near and dear ones and I wish speedy recovery of those injured in these blasts. There is no place for violence, terrorism and intolerance in any civilized society and we all resolve to fight against such forces with all might at our command,” said Ghulam Nabi Azad, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, while condemning the blasts, which took lives of more than 200 people and left injured over 500.
Christian Fellowship Trust, Jammu on behalf of Christian community in Jammu strongly condemned the bomb blasts. Special prayer was conducted in Jammu and Kashmir for the departed souls and injured ones. The Christian Fellowship Trust requested Sri-Lankan Government to provide the special security protection in all the churches in Sri-Lanka so that such attacks do not occur there in future.
Jammu West Christian Association strongly condemned the brutal mass killing of Christians by serial blast in Sri Lanka during Easter Prayer Service in 3 Churches of Colombo. After Easter Prayers, the Association members under the persidentship of Ashu Peter Mattoo, assembled and extended heartfelt condolence to the sorrowful families of departed souls.
