Leave it to conscience of MPs to give up LPG subsidy: Farooq

SRINAGAR:
Former Union Minister Farooq Abdullah today said it should be left to the conscience of the members of parliament whether they want to give up the LPG subsidy, a campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“It is not for Farooq Abdullah to tell them. It is their conscience that has to decide this thing (giving up LPG subsidy),” Abdullah, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference patron, told reporters here.
Abdullah evaded a directed reply when asked if he had given up his LPG subsidy.
“Don’t worry about me. I will do whatever I have to,” he said in response to the question about the ‘Give-It-Up’ campaign.
The Prime Minister had launched the ‘GiveItUp’ movement on March 27 in Delhi and appealed to all countrymen who can afford it, to come forward and give up their LPG subsidy. (AGENCIES)
