JAMMU, Aug 27: The Science Club of KC Public School organized an interesting talk this morning on the phenomenon of earthquakes on the planet earth and its impact on human beings, here today.
Dr Sunil Kumar Wanchoo, Assoc-iate Professor in School of Physics, SMVDU, Katra was the resource person of the event, wherein students of classes IX to XII watched the presentation with intense interest and listened to the speaker very attentively.
Prof Wanchoo’s interactive presentation dwelt mainly on the impact of earthquakes on human society. He also underpinned the need to understand the phenomenon in scientific terms and its importance in human activities such as construction of buildings.
President of the Club Master Arihant Singh Jasrotia presented the welcome address. The vice president of KC Paryavaran Sadan, Shambvi Gupta and vice president of KC Science Club, Akshita Singh presented a sapling to Dr Sunil Kumar Wanchoo at the end of his presentation.
Principal Amarendra Mishra thanked Dr Wanchoo for his erudite and lucid presentation for the benefit of KCPS students. He also thanked the teacher in-charges Surbhi Mahajan and Kapil Kashyap for facilitating the event.
