SAMBA, Sept 13: A ‘Legal Awareness Program’ was organised at MV International School, here today to educate students.
The program was conducted by a team of learned members from judiciary, headed by chief guest, Slahuddin Ahmed, Civil Judge & Secretary District Legal Service Authority Samba. Advocates and office bearers of Bar Association Samba also graced the event and shared their views on a wide range of topics related to children in conflict with law; juvenile justice law; legal proceedings; child rights and responsibilities; delinquency; bullying; cyber crimes etc with emphasis on their prevention and reporting.
Advocate Hitesh Diwedi threw light on juvenile justice, taking into account the present challenges that children have to face in their day to day schedules, whether in school or at home or in market places. He apprised them about the legal procedures that have to be followed in case of any abuse or misconduct with any child.
Advocate Mandeep Singh Sambyal, President Bar Association Samba shared examples of actions that children and adults might be doing without being aware of the fact that they can come under the preview of unforeseen crimes.
Advocate Farhan Mirza, J&K High Court Jammu, Advocate Dhanraj Singh and Advocate Ch Balbir Singh; Chairman of School Hira Lal Abrol; Director Gourav Abrol; Principal Kundan Lal Dogra along with staff and students attended the program.
The chief guest and the team of panellists patiently heard the queries of students and answered each one of them with facts and examples of the cases related to their questions.
Gourav Abrol presented a vote of thanks and shared the commitment of the MV International School family to make the society a happy place to live in.
