JAMMU, Aug 28: Cricket fans in Kashmir are set for an exhilarating experience as live cricket returns to the Valley after nearly 40 years. The Legends League Cricket (LLC) will bring the excitement of the game back to Srinagar as part of its latest season. The tournament will begin on September 20, 2024, at Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur, with the grand finale scheduled for October 16 at the historic Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar.
This edition of LLC marks a significant milestone, with Indian and international cricket stars playing in Kashmir for the first time in almost half a century. “We are thrilled to bring live cricket back to Kashmir this season,” said Raman Raheja, Co-Founder of Legends League Cricket. “This is a fantastic opportunity for the people of Kashmir to witness their favourite cricketing legends in action. It’s also a chance for the players to experience the region’s beauty and hospitality.”
The league is renowned for its thrilling matches and massive fan engagement, with the previous season drawing an audience of 180 million across India. This season is set to be even more spectacular, featuring a star-studded lineup, including the recently retired Shikhar Dhawan and other cricketing icons like Suresh Raina, Chris Gayle, Gautam Gambhir, and Aaron Finch.
Legends League Cricket will kick off at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium, Jodhpur, on September 20, making its way to the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat, on September 27. The third leg will be played at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu, from October 6, where the last edition of the LLC was a great success with packed stadiums cheering for the best national and international cricketing stars. The finals of the LLC will be played at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, from October 10, 2024, where fans have eagerly awaited for close to half a century to watch live cricketing action.
