LEH, Apr 15: District Magistrate Leh, Sachin Kumar Vaishya issued an order regarding the continuation of the lock-down, here today.
“Whereas, under directions of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMS’s) order dated 24.03.2020, the Chairperson, National Executive Committee (Union Home Secretary) has issued direction to all Ministers/Departments of Government of India, State/ Union Territory Governments and State/Union Territory Authorities, with the guidelines to implement lock-down measure to contain the spread of COVID-19, in all parts of the country for a period of 21 days with effect from 25.03.2020,” said Vaishya.
He added that as in exercise of the power under section (62)(i) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, NDMA has issued an order No 1-37/2018-Mit-II (FTS-10548) dated 14.04.2020, directing the Chairperson National Executive Committee that existing lockdown measures be continued to be implemented in all parts of the country up to 03.05.2020.
“Therefore in view of the above and the power vested in me under section 144 CrPC, National Disaster Management Act, 2005, Epidemic Act, Essential Commodities Act, I do hereby order for continuation of the lockdown measures till May 3, 2020,” said Sachin Kumar according to a handout issued here.
