SRINAGAR, Apr 20: The Lashkar-e-Toiba top leadership in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) have directed their new cadres not to get in touch with the Pakistani militants already operating in Kashmir valley for past few years as they suspect their loyalty, sources said.
Highly placed sources said that of late the LeT commanders have directed their new ranks not to get in touch with the Pakistani militants working on the ground with LeT in Kashmir as they suspect that they are under Army and Police radar.
Sources said that new LeT modules are mostly small groups comprising 2 Pakistanis handled by a Kashmiri. “However, their Kashmiri handlers are being directed by the LeT commanders from Pakistan”, sources added.
“The logic behind small modules is that they are difficult to come under security radar and if any of the modules gets trapped it will be restricted to that module only”, sources said.
They added that the LeT has done away with centralised command structure after security forces achieved major successes against them for past few years by eliminating their top commanders.
The Bemina Fidayeen attack that was carried out by two LeT cadres Saif, a resident of Dera Ghazi Khan, Pakistan, and Haider, resident of Multan, Pakistan, at the behest of their commander Ahmad Bhai and logistics chief Anas Bilal who are based across the Line of Control (LoC). Police said the duo was being handled by the two commanders from across.
Police said that the two LeT men were handled by Bashir Ahmad Mir alias Haroon resident of Uri in Baramulla who was arrested by Police and they were directly being handled by their Pakistani commanders through Bashir.
The two Fidayeen who carried out the Bemina attack were killed alongwith 5 CRPF men in March this year. Sources said that the recently captured top LeT commander Fahadullah had no knowledge about the Bemina Fidayeen attack as he was not in the loop.
Sources said that of late Fahadullah was not being trusted by the Pakistani commanders as they thought he was under security forces radar or was in touch with them.
Reports said that Fahadullah had become suspect in the eyes of top LeT commanders across in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) after killing of 9 militants in Sopore in a 6 day long operation in December last year.
